Brief History of the Holy Child Convent
Holy Child Convent, Amichi was founded in September, 2001. It took off with one hundred and thirteen(113) pioneer students, all in JS one.
The Convent is run as boarding school, with all the students residing in the hostel, in order to bring up adolescent girls on sound Christian principles and in fear of God, and summarily to give them all round education.
The Convent has her Proprietor as The Rt. Rev’d E. O. Ikeakor, Bishop, Diocese of Amichi (Anglican Communion). The Diocese and the Diocesan see the Convent as a unique opportunity to fulfill an aspect of the mission of the Church to serve mankind and society by providing education suitable to the child’s age, ability, aptitude, and godliness in her environment in order to give her the right start in life.
